I knew I wanted to work deconstructively, so that led me to consider a vortex within a volumetric medium, as would be created by a propeller in water, or a turbine within air. I wanted to envision a moment in a ‘space’ in which a huge structure that was created by the vortex is beginning to crumble, as fragments begin to slowly fall out into the disrupted medium, until eventually there is nothing left.
